    Crocea Clam Question

Can I have a Crocea Clam in my 35 gallon, utilizing an Orbit 2x65 PC with lunar lights, but propping him/her up on the highest ledge of rock closest to the light? I am thinking "yes", but I am not sure. Don't have budget right now to go Halides, but will inevitably do that for my next tank this year.

Thanks guys!! I know there are alot of you experienced clammers including Reefland himself.. Don't want to invest in something that will lead to an unhappy ending.

The crocea clam is the most lighting needy of all the clams we keep. Metal halides are what a tridacna crocea clam really needs to live and thrive. 2 96w would not be sufficient for keeping a crocea. That even includes placing the clam as high in the tank as possible.

I'd pass til maybe you could upgrade your lighting.

A derasa or squamosa would be better suited for this lighting and even a hippopus clam.

Thank you very much. I knew that it wouldnt work, but I still like the Deresa and the Squamosa also. Cool.
