Angry yellow tang

my yellow tang has lost its brilliant yellow color, and is a pale whitish- yellow with one small bright yellow streak on both sides. He has been this way for several months and seems to be very healthy.

Hi pam wells, Welcome to Reefland!

You'll need to tell us more about your system so we can try to diagnose your problem. Specifically:

1. What size and how old is your tank?
2. What does your filtration consist of?
3. Do you use RO/DI water?
4. What kind of livestock do you have?

Nitrates, in a tank that is considered established, are caused by poor husbandry, insufficient or incorrect equipment or something that has died causing the increase.
