Turbo Fluctuosa growth
Can someone describe for me how a Turbo fluctuosa builds a new shell? I don't pay much attention to mine but I guess I should. Tonight I noticed that it's built another 1.25" or so on to his old shell. The new growth is brighter, has more color and markings than the old corraline covered part. I was just curious how a snail went about building the shell and the rate at which they could build the new additions. I don't think it happened overnight but I would assume I would have noticed it earlier......
I've had this guy for months and months and he is the only one that survived a mass snail die off that occured the last time I went home for a few weeks. He is obviously doing well for himself. Thanks

Samper,
I don't know the process to which is utilized but snails shells do increase in size as the snail increases in size. Their shells are calcium carbonate and with good water quality they will grow as needed. |

I wonder why the hermits can't do it and the snail can...
