Macro Algaes and pods

While chaetamorpha is quickly becoming the latest and most popular macro algae I will say that it has so far been one of the best macros to house pods as well too from what I have seen. There is one downfall I have with chaetamorpha though and that is it can quickly clog overflows or intake screens because of its thin stringy composition. Im just curious as to others takes on the best algaes for pods? or worms, snails and other detrivores for that matter.

I think all algaes will house pods and such. except possibly for the broadleaf halimeda (but then again who knows). I have had luck with Caluerpa as well as the red (tang heaven) stuff for copedods, amphipods, mysids, micro stars, & bristle worms.

From what I understand, the big benefit to Chaeto is that it wont asexual on your tank, dissolve and leach all the phosphates it has been collecting back into the tank. This feature in itself keeps Chaeto from becoming a veritable time bomb which most of the other algaes have been accused of...esp. caluerpa.
