I was just looking into my tank couple of minutes ago and there was something that looked like hair on my powerheadr. Now I'm not shure if it's brown hair alge or something else though, so that is why I need to ask you this. Is it possible to get it because I just have 1.5 inches of aragamax and 1 inch of ls I got yesterday. My water is murky so it might be just the buildup of that. I don't have any lights going except for couple of minutes a day just to see what it looks like as the water clears. I do have a skimmer going and it is picking up stuff but not a lot of it. Just "dirt" that arose when I put LS in.
Please help me out here. Thanks ![]() |

If you mean hair algae... I doubt that it could grow in 24 hours.
If you mean a Hair from a dog, cat, monkey, human etc... sure even with a hood on a tank stray hair can get in.

This thing definetly was not human or animal hair. It just looks like hair and it's brown in color. It is just on the powerheads on the part where water gets sucked in.
Thnaks for the reply anyways 8-) |

Probably something that was on rock or in the sand. Vegitive type matter.
I would just reach in and pull it off.
