Nice work on your tank, you have some nice colored corals..
Hi Tereefic and Sailfin, Welcome to Reefland to the both of you!
Your tank looks very nice. The aquascaping is great, I like have you have your SPS perched up on the rocks in the back.![]()
Tereefic,
Wow, very nice looking tank!![]()
Very nice tank Tereefic
And welcome to RL.
I would love to hear some specs on your tank. Looks like some of them corals have been in there a while.
Rocky
Thanks all for the possitive fedback on the tank so far. The tank is a standard 75 gallon tank and is set up as a stony mixed LPS/SPS reef with the exception of the Sarcophyton that multiplies steadily. The tank was set up 4 years ago using Tampa bay saltwater aquacultured live rock. I removed a lot of the original rock for a more of an open rock structure/aquascape. The tank is lit with a Hamilton Tech. light fixture that contains 2 X 175 watt 14 K Hamilton Halides and 2 X 55 watt 50/50 PC's. I have a 39 gallon rubbermade sump and a Aqua C remora hang on skimmer. The older pic does not show but I now use a Seio 1100, Maxi jet 1200, and a mag 9.5 running through a 3/4 " seaswirl for in tank circulation.
Even though the tank was established 4 years ago, the tank is in its current condition for just under 2 years due to a Rio 2500 pump melting down and wiping out almost the whole tank. The only corals that survived the "mess" is the now large green frogspawn growing nicely on the left end of the tank and the cream colored Merulina plate in the center.. The frogspawn started about the size of a baseball and now takes up most of the left side of the tank. The merulina started about the size of a tablespoon and is now bigger than my hand. All of the other SPS started out as small frags and I have been adding them slowly at intervals over the past year and a half. As for fish, I have a Kole tang, bonded pair of maroon clowns hosting a rose bubble tip anemone, a royal gramma, and a six line wrasse. One blood shrimp and one skunk cleaner shrimp and several Mexican turbos are also housed. No crabs of any sort are used for cleanup. The tank is usually run at about 410 PPM clacium and 8.0 DKH alkalinity. PH runs about 8.0 - 8.1 and temp is 79-80 F. Thanks again for the feedback and I look forward to enjoying this site as a resource.![]()

Reefland. I believe you are referring to the cream colored Merulina. It grows around its edges in a single plating form. Not much color but a cool coral in my opinion none the less.Originally Posted by Reefland
