Glue
What kind of glue can I use to glue coral frags down with? I've got some "Pro CA cynoacrylate glue" here and I am wondering if I can use it to glue frags down with. I don't want to put something in the tank that will nuke it.

Cyanoacrylate glue (Super Glue) can be used to mount frags. They make it in a gel version that is easier to work with. You need to dry off a spot on the piece of live rock where you intend to mount the frag and then dry off the bottom of the frag before applying a small amount of super glue. You need to do this out of the water and hold the frag against the base for about a minute before placing it in a bowl of tank water to cure for 10 or 15 minutes before placing it in the tank.

This is probably the dumbest question ever..but I'm new so. What is a frag? And why would you want to or need to glue it to live rock? Thanks for the info.

sweetrav18,
A frag is a fragment of a coral. Many people sell/trade/give pieces of their corals as they grow too big for their tanks. |
