almost at the start

frustration is needing to find a home for the fresh water fish I have. hope to soon start my reef but when I am cycling my live rock do I need to add anything but salt doesn't seem to be a need .do you have any other reccomendations. and one final question where do you suggest that I put my heater?thanks , scotty 57

I think he is suggesting that while curing his liverock the only thing special that needs to be in the water is salt...no additives of any kind.

While curing your rock you need to make sure the salinity, temperature and pH are correct. Once the rock is cured, I would immediately start adding some type of additive, whether it is limewater or a 2-part component to get your alk and ca balanced.

almost started

I have an aquafuge w/ protein skimmer and light w/4 -65 watt satelitte compact florsecent 3 powerheads how is this for a start and where do reccomend that I put the heater ps I see two products that can go in aquafuge either refugium mud or biosediment which do you think is better thanks scotty57

Scotty,

I think substrate for your refugium should simply consist of livesand. Simple and effective. If you can, I would also place the heater inside the AquaFuge to remove clutter from the display tank; the less obstructions the better the appearance.
