Fabulous shots!

I like that your rose bulb still has "bulbs".

I ws curious about the caulerpa too. I keep the same kind in my display.

I have to prune WEEKLY. Actually now that it's hotter and my tank gets direct sunlight for several hours a day, I am having to prune 2xs per week.

No regrets cuase I never introduced it......

Popped up after 2 1/2 year old live rock......

Just goes to show that no matter how old the rock is there can always be life just waiting to destroy everything. lol

Whats funny is that this rose is a clone and the the "momma" does not have bulbs and this one didnt at first either. This rose came near to death by getting sucked into a power head and losing 3/4s of its body. What remained bleached out and disappeared for months. It came back as whole again and soon gained its color back. At the time it only had 4 tenicles left. When the new one started growing they were bulb shape.

I was really nervous that when it was sucked up (nov last year) that I would lose some of my sps in just a tiny ten gallon, but the water cleared fast with no losses.

Every time I hear stories like that I think this aquarium keeping isn't so complicated after all!

Actually, it's more a testament to how resilient aquatic life is in environments where good husbandry takes place.

To be honest I really didnt have to do much cause I have such a mature tank with layers of protection. I have so many animals filtering the water like sponges and almost 30 lbs of 2 1/2 year old live rock in a ten is nothing to laught at either.

I decided to frag my purple digita not because it was too big but I knew that in its current spot it would and I wanted to change the aquascape there a little anyhow. I decided that I would frag and mount in a way that would produce a thick well encrusted colony that wouldnt threaten its neighbors. Fragging sps is pretty easy.
  1. break
  2. superglue
  3. stick in place
  4. done
  5. drink beer

Heres the shots to show you what it looked like sorta.

AND DONE!

I also moved my hammer to a better place.

Very cool shots...

I noticed that fabulous linkia in one of your earlier pics. How long have you had it?? Any problems with it? I have always wanted to try one, but keep reading how touchy they are, so I've never gotten more adventurous than my 2 serpent stars.

I drove 3 hours round trip for that healthy linkia ( well to see the store actually) and I think that its all about water stability with these guys. Whats funny is that I have read that keeping an urchin and linkia is not gonna last long as they compete for the same food. I also read that keeping a linkia is a tank less then 55 or they will starve. I have a theory that they actually filter feed via the water column and have been feeding phyto. I have had him since Feb now.

Well I was doing some cleaning in my tank amd all of a sudden this thick white stuff stuffing comes from under my live rock. I have seen macro go sexual but this was a pearl white substance and I had no idea what it could be coming from.. I watched for a minute and I started seeing bristle worms popping their heads out of the live rock and shooting a white substance into the tank. I have to assume that this is sperm although I have never seen or heard of this happening before. I couldnt get pics of them doing it as it happened so quickly but I did get pics of the after effects.

Also since we are on the subject I took a shot of bottom of my tank. I love how you can see the tunnels from different animals in the sand.

Is that a Talbot's damsel? I have one of those in my tank.

I like the picture looking up at the bottom of the sandbed too. You don't see that angle too often.

Yeah I like getting wierd shots. I love taking actinic macro and black and white shots. Whats so great about taking pics is that sometimes you get to see things that the naked eye doesnt.
