I was staring into the abyss known as my little ole ten gallon wallet drainer..... kidding.

Anywho I noticed one of my large one foot bristle worm and thought I would get some pics of him. Pretty amazing that its one foot and in a ten gallon...

Here are the pics of it eating a sponge. I watch in amazement as it swallowed the sponge off the glass in whole. I had always thought that they actually ate via a tounge and licked.

This is his mouth open against the glass.

Just for kicks I took a pic of my brittle star.

I know there are some people lurking around here that could benefit from hearing about your maintenance routine and things of that nature. I know you don't have to do much from an earlier post but I'm just curious what exactly you do to it.

I am not sure what to say honestly. Its just so easy now that its like childs play.

I do a one gallon water change once a week using ro/di water. I keep the auto top off fill with a mix of one gallon of ro/di water with about 2 tablespoons of kalk mixed in vinegar....

I wish I had a more complex detailed run down, but thats all I do.

I do clean the glass with a razor blade from time to time.....Maybe pull some of the macro....

Sorry thats all I got.

That'll help . What was your maintenance like when the system was young? Did you learn on a nano?

When I started out I was just topping off with regular water and dosing calcium. I was rarely doing water changes and my dosing was sporadic.

This is my first and only reef tank and I didnt have a message board to lean on until well after the start up of this tank. I started this tank because I was told by my lfs that I could not do a small (10 gallon) reef tank. I proved them wrong.

You wouldnt of thought so highly of my efforts if you seen my tank a year and a half ago, it was covered in hair algae 1 1/2 inches thick. Not one part of my tank was not covered, however you see the same rock today. I never gave up.

I am still pondering whether im going to replace the clam with a clam or with some corals. What do you all think I should do?

I would go with some coral. In a tank this size clam growth can become a bit much (even with a slower grower like a crocea or maxima). The real estate a coral takes can be controlled easier.

Yeah I think you may be right. It seems so hard to find a good clam around here.

Any ideas on what you think I should get? I am leaning towards sps or shrooms.

lately I've been drooling over some of the more expensive Yumas but zoanthids are always a nice addition.

Ever wanted to know what this tank used to look like? When I said that this tank has gone through cycles in its life spans I meant it. Seeing these old shots almost brings a tear to my eye.

Well, my crazy theory has now come true. My hermit crab is revolting against me. You may remember before in a past thread where I was going to get some icecream late at night and discovered my hermit on the floor all dry but still kicking, well today I discovered the same hermit trying to escape. For those that do not know the history heres a link:

LINK!

Now for the evidence. These pics may be a little graphic so I ask that parents please ask your children to leave the room at this time.

View at your own risk!!!!

He thought he was slick!

Back in he goes..... Keep my eye on em.
