My ten gallon sps reef.

I have taken pictures of my precious ten gallon. This tank has been through hell and back over the last 2 1/2 years. I have battle hair algae nitrates ect ect and lost a tank full of corals twice with the exception of a couple that made it the full duration.I have been sps bound for about 8 months now and in total this ten gallon holds over 27 different types of corals.I have 8 differnt types of snails and a cucumber.I have natural phytoplankton growing along with a very diverse fauna population.

Enough talking heres the pics.

Ok, These were taken yesterday as I was trying to get some top down shots.I thought these pics looked cool as the light was in the background instead of right in front of my fac/camera.

I am using a sleek coralife 20 inch modded into a 70 watt metal halide with 36 watt true actinic.

Heres a link for the mod with pics of how everything was done.

The most recent mod (actinic) is on page 3.

Mike, awesome system man. I have an sps nano myself and know the stuggles you've faced. I have same two digitatas as you pictured up close and the purple with brown polyps is one of my favorites. I'm curious how your ph swing is. I keep a 20 gallon and just don't find it possible to drip all my topoff with limewater so I have to dose a 2 part weekly. I lose about 10ppm Ca a day. If I drip what I need to drip at night my ph is right where I want it by morning but by the end of the daily photoperiod it's too high.

Thanks, I wouldnt mind checking out your tank if you can post me a link.I was hoping the purple digita would be all purple but its only purple when the polyps are closed .
The ph swings between 8.1-8.4 but I utilize vinegar in my kalk to maintain a more stable mix.

Give me about 2 weeks and I'll have all the pictures you can handle. I'm moving back home and my mom is sort of an amateur photographer. She's been begging me to hurry so she'll have something new to photograph and practice on. I can't wait for her to crack open that bag of lenses for some nice macro shots.

I wasn't disappointed with the purple digitata at all. The contrast between the brown and purple is rather appealing to me.

How much limewater do you drip daily and what is a good estimate of the amount of vinegar I should use for a five gallon bucket of it?

I dont know what my evap is honestly I just know that over testing my params and adjusting my mixture of kalk that this mix works for me.

1 Gallon
1 1/2 tablespoons kalk
1/3 cup vinegar

I would guess around two gallons a week maybe.

I also noticed you have 3 fish in there? What is the third one you pictured I honestly can't tell. Also what's your water change schedule like? I change 2 or so gallons every Wed and 5 every Sat.
