A. Lovelli
I bought this one about a year ago. Loves strong lighting and grows almost as fast as montiproa digitata. However all the growth is straight up and out, I can't get it to encrust over its base at all. Just last week I had to reattach the entire colony after its weight pulled it loose. Frags were taken last week (some from the fall) and the stumps are already showing coverage of growth.
the color is a bright sky blue. I have a very difficult time trying get a pic that reflects it's true colors. Today’s pic ![]() A pic from last month, the color is much closer in this one ![]()

Allen,
Very nice! Are those Columbellids on the wall? Did they come from IPSF? ![]()

Allen,
Now where did you get that? I see you got a hold of some epoxy. I hope it works better than that superglue Quote:

I ordered 20 a few years ago and now have hundreds. ISPF called them strombus grazers, Dr Shemik called them spotted conch in an article a few years back. In any event I highly recommend them for clean up in a reef.
Kevin I actually made a mold and then glued the Lovelli to the mold. Yes Kevin that is one of your off spring! You really should visit it more often Allen

Beautiful piece Allen! Very interesting that it is showing lots of upward growth but has not encrusted the base. I have just the opposite problem with ours, we get lots of encrusting but no upward growth.
