According to Scott Michael, these tangs are one the more difficult tangs to keep in anything but a larger aquarium, They are great swimmers, thus need a whole bunch of room. Speaking from experience, I have mine in a 300, along with a Red sea purple and a Blonde Naso. I went thru some tough times at first, didn't want to eat, etc. I would suggest maybe trying one of the easier tangs before you tackle another Achilles. Do a little research on these critters and then maybe try one of the easier tangs to care for. All of them like alot of room.

Are you aware that the sailfin alone can grow to 15"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't believe it is possible to keep seven tangs healthy for any length of time in a 90-gal tank.

I don't believe it is possible to keep even one Naso tang or Achilles tang healthy in a 90-gal tank.

I don't believe it is possible to keep three Zebrasoma spp. tangs together long-term in a 90-gal tank.

If one wants to a keep a tang in a 90-gal tank, I would suggest one specimen, preferably either a yellow tang or a purple tang.

That's my advice. I'm afraid I don't know how to keep an Achilles tang successfully in a tank as small as yours.

I have a Naso tang in my 90 gal. I have had her for about 7 months now and she's been very healthy. But, I've noticed she seems to be getting cramped in our tank. She's only about 6 inches long. I'm going to get rid of her in the next few weeks. I don't want her to get stressed and die! I should have listened to everyone advice and waited until I got a bigger tank.

Well Alex you might be doing something special in your tank to be able to all those tangs healthy!!!!! Sure wish I could figure out how to keep more than 2 going at one time in my 150gal.

But after loosing 2 in a stuborn attempt I learned I don't have enough money to waste not listening to the advice of others. Besides hindering the growth and health of the fish I love.

Sorry can't give you any advice as to how to keep yet another Tang

Morish Idols, 7 tangs in a 90 gallon....sheesh, your asking for trouble. Here is the answer, you will never be able to keep the Achilles Tang healthy in this tank and you are stressing your other fish. Bottom line, there is no need for further discussion here; you are not doing your tank nor the animals you are trying to keep any justice...

Hi Alex

Dewd....that is alot of fish in a 90g! Just curious whats in your 200g? Dont you think you will have problems trying to catch them when they get bigger? Why wait til they get bigger if you have a 200g now? as mentioned above there may be serious health/stress issues that you may not be aware of.

In theory you can keep a human being alive in a small, darkened cell with no light at all for years. In reality, he will go stark raving mad within a few months.

The weather man is doing his best to provide accurate, reliable information. He is not doing his best to harm living creatures just to prove the grownups wrong.

WOW! How big are they? How long have you had them? Did you get them all at once, or add.
