Hi Ilham,

Congrats on the fry, I wish you the best of luck and hope that you begin raising them with consistency. Heck, I'll buy a couple of you when they are at least an inch long... Great job so far and please, keep us posted on the progress.

PS. What are you feeding them?

Thank you all for the supporting comments.

I am feeding them newly-hatched baby brine shrimp at the moment, and starting to wean them to flake foods.

Gene, I will try to raise more of course but my main focus is on my gold band maroons. I will give them a shot and see how that goes. It's fun doing this, but many late nights lol! Sad to see when a lot die..at one point..but that is what I have to deal with i guess

I will try to improve my success rates.

I guess it's inevitable that some losses will occur, as you perfect your methods the survaval rates will increase as well. I am amazed that you have this much going strong right now, usually the survavl rates are dismal unless you have steril facility and all the stuff that goes with it.
I got to hand it to you, I'm really surprized that you've been able to raise any fry from A.clarkii .

Do you hatch nauplii yourself? Also, would it be reasonable to offer them some cyclop-eeze or it's unnatural to them?

Yes, I am surprised myself, since this is my first attempt to raise clarkiis. I hope things will improve, as I raise more.

Actually, i'd like to feed cyclop-eeze but i do not have any at the moment. They have a nice fat content. Right now rotifers and baby brine shrimp.

I'll be happy to ship some when they get bigger.

Hi Martin. This is my first time for the moment. I really do not know what works or what doesn't yet. I will, however, raise these next set of batches and see what I can change, and what the results will be. I will just experiment with different things first. I will let you know how it goes. Seems like a couple weeks ago I didnt' know what i was doing

Crossing my fingers for improvement in fry survival next batch.

I'm not at the safe point yet I guess. I think once they get pass day 20, all should be good.

I lost some today to what I think may be deformed guts, or no gut at all. Some were really skinny like when they were on day 1.

I will take more photos tomorrow of the little guys. I'll get a better idea of really how many i have. I'm guessing about 30-40 alive.

Thank you everybody. I took a couple photos from Day 17 yesterday. Most now have stripes and some are still fry-like. I am not sure if these runts or smaller ones will change, but I will keep them on smaller foods and see what happens. Thanks again for the encouraging words. The next couple of weeks will be busy...again.. I am sorry if the photos are too big , I can resize them.

Not much change. They are now a month old (Day 30). About 50-60 still alive. Run into a bit of badluck with the maroons....but...stay tuned.... I'll start another post later on.
