Is it the pump for the skimmer you are asking about? If so, the output of the pump(powerhead) slides into the hole on the side of the acrylic cylinder. Make sure to keep your venturi line out of the water. Hope this helps. Do you have a maxi-jet or a rio powerhead?

Talking maxi jet 1200

let me see if i have it straight the powerhead goes on inside of the tank submerged. The next question was about a O ring does this go around PS to create a seal,if so do I need to get it in tight between the 2 plastic peices?
I would appriciate any help you can give thanks Scotty57

Is your aquafuge a hang on or sump model?

If it is hang on the the maxi-jet does go inside the tank. The O ring probably goes around the collection cup as this is how you adjust your skimmate(wet or dry). Hope this helps. Be sure to keep the venturi line out of the tank so it can suck air. The maxi jet hooks onto the black plastic pipe sticking down on hang on model....good luck and happy reefing...your friend reefologist
