If you have a keen eye you can see a Brown blue stag behind the clam all my blue stags seem to go the same way with a darkening of the tissue check em out today

Hi there, my friend, nice to see you back.

Tank looks really nice after all the improvements and modifications you made, it is nice to see that hard work did pay off, eh?

The Elegance looks really beautiful, I wish we could get some healthy specimens in US...
Now, 5 bucks a week for cleaning those grimy skimmer cups...that's child slavery We should report you to authorities for that one... :slap:

Hi Gene

Yeah Mate its all starting to really take off ime happier then a pig in sh t
my only problem is flow at even 33 x turnover ime finding it hard to get enough in some areas. I have a beautifull Pink Pocillopora that has darkened considerably so ime quite concerned for its continued well being .
Ime aware of the problem its not receiving enough light i imagine but the piece is large and the most perfect spot is between a couple of halides .Whats your take on that scenario? ime led to believe they need a lot of light to retain the colour like directly underneath it . Its amazing cause i saved a Pink one recently from another hobbiest it had been suffering for so long that it had corraline algae growing on it .I could only save the tips but i managed to save at least a dozen of them and glued them on a boulder and had the room to stick it under the lamp .What a recovery shes very nice coloured pink when i put her directly under it .Its one of those things it looks like i have no choice but to move her but that will result in a complete change around of pieces .Ive noticed my SPS hate being moved around so thats why ive been putting it off.
To Hell with it ive just decided to buy another light and control gear id rather spend $300 bucks then move all my stuff
Mia
Thanks for lookin

I think you are correct about the light requrements for the pink colored Pocillopora. They do need derect strong light to stay that color...

I also think that moving Acroporas a lot leads to their demise eventually. I mean once or twice is OK to move them but preferably when you acclimate them to the lighting in your tank and moving them up, so to speak. I found that if I start moving them to other parts of the tank( where lighting and flow is different from what they adjusted to) it leads to stress. Not all probably but most did in my case when I was rearranging one side of my tank.

Get that new light and forget about it.

Good points made Gene

Ime finding in my observations they certainly have a tolerence in regard to moving but if somethings say used up its reserves of energy with shipping and acclimitisation and hasn't actually recovered as in new growth moves like that can be fatal. The benifiets of a new lamp will mean there will be more light to go around and .
Thanks for the input.
