cyanobacteria bloom
I have had this lovely red slime in my tank for about 2 months now, and can't seem to get rid of it. I think the problem stemmed from overfeeding while my friend took care of my tank a while back, as he used about 10oz of frozen brine in a week
I'm running about 20% waterchanges with a gravel siphoner 2x a week and physically removing it, a lot of crazy growing calupera in the tank, and feeding very carefully. Is there anything else that I can do to help eliminate this problem, or just keep at it?I'm running a 55g reef, about 60lbs liverock, decent quality tap water, 2 powerheads, hob filter with carbon, and skimmer. All water parms are good except nitrate, which is at 15-20 atm, but going down each w/c. 265w pc for 11 hours a day. I also have regular aquarium gravel as my substrate, which I plan to change as soon as I move and have to tear the tank down anyways. |
