took some pics today

Well I got a replacement for my late dwarf moray, and this guy really is yellow. He was a real pain to photograph and I didn't really suceed. But I did take what I thinks is my first "good" picture of one of my clowns. The candy hog is an awesome fish. Very bright and colorful. Swimming out in the open after 5 minutes, and eating. Still trying to learn how to take pictures, but what do you think?

Nice start, they look underexposed to me by about 1 stop. Try a wider apeture, or higher ISO. You can't drop the shutter speed to much and still get a good picture of a moving fish.

I don't think that I can control stops or aperature. I have a sony psc-p10. I can control something called EV or exposure value. I had it set to the lowest setting (-2.0). The ISO was 100, I suppose I could try 200. The only other things I can control are various preset white balance settings and some focus modes. maybe i need a more manual camera...

Great shot of the frogspawn especially, IMO.

Re: the candy hog -- did you get him online, or from a local store?

I got him at my most loathed lfs. They sold him to me for 58$, which is about the usualy price online, so I avoided shipping. But these people dont put prices on their tanks, and the other week I saw them sell the same fish only bigger to a guy for 34$. I ask about it, they say "its a different species". I say no its not. They say yes it is.... what're you gona do.

Thats why they are dark... you UNDEREXPOSED them by 2 stops, hence the -2! I usually set my camera for -1 and get pretty good results. I would go ahead and try ISO 200 and see what you get.
