Question Help with moving

I am going to be moving in a few months from So. Calif. to Missouri. Does anyone have any ideas on the safest way to move a small reef tank? I only have a 25 gallon, but it is doing great and is just the way I want it. I would hate to have to give it away. What is the best way to get it done with minimal losses? Anyone had any luck in this area?

Hey DK
get some cheap rubbermades, and never put more than half full, or some 5g. buckets w/lids for the LR and LS. The containers with fish/corals in them (not bagged) I would atleast buy a battery powered aerator for them from walmart they are pretty cheap and should help out alot. I would also consider putting the corals/fish in something insulated like styro container or a cooler. Bag everything you can see if you can get some bags from the LFS, just make sure you put a good amount of air as well as water. If you bag evertyhing you can use heat packs if need be. a cheap thermometer placed inside your cooler/styro will let you know the temps your keeping. And watch the potholes and bumps in the roads HTH

Use styro

I forgot to add if you have some corals that may need perimeter barriers you can maybe use styro and rubber band their bases to chunks of styrofoam and float them upside down, this will protect the coral a little better depending on the corals you have and what they are mounted to. The styrofoam must be as big as the perimeter you intend to carve out. I buy the styro @ HD and use a razor to cut to specs that the bag will permit some of the transhippers use this method.
