I have the benefit of living near the Atlantic Do what is the opinion of getting some sand from there and using in my tank,and what copods should I add and does anyone know where I can get

Honestly I don't have direct knowledge but I have read that usually that it is not a good idea due to the polutants that are near shore sand. I don't know if they sanitize the stuff they sell in stores of not but I haven't seen one person advise to do that.

I don't know if it a good Idea or not but just make sure that it not against the law to take the sand. I have heard that it is in some places.

Have You Heard Of Old Castle Out Of Pa. For Sand For The Tank And About The Animals You Need In The Tank To Keep Sand Aerated

Beach sand
I would strongly discourage this idea. Now if you are diving on a reef and you got a small handfull of sand right outside of the reef on a dive it would be a different thing, the biodiversity would be there and less problems like mentioned above with pollutants such as runoff, but collecting sand from a beach point is way too risky. Havent you ever seen how foam accumulates on the beaches? Well this is part of mother natures skimmer the stuff eventually, not to mention how tidal changes allow the foam too dry up and blow away or get processed on dry land versus wet zonal reef areas.
