Update on some of the recent corals.

I figured I'll update you guys on some of the corals that I got in February of this year. As you know, I have red bugs in my tank and I am sure I got them on this corals as well. The changes are mostly in size and coloration that i observed in the three month that I have this.
Here's one that is on the sand bed almost directly under MH bulb, I'd say roughly 36" from it. First pic is when I got it( well maybe a week or so later and it has ton of barnacles living in the coral too). Color is mostly brown as well.

and here it is three month later, I don't see polyps anymore during day time either but the color had improved and it grew a lot.

I think you remember this green coral I got at the same time.I really liked this green color and hoped it wouldn't change but it sure did. From this

to this... Grew as well and has blue growing margins but turn mainly brown in the body.

I hope to get out of the rot that I've been lately and do the interceptor thing soon.

The color change on the top one is great ... that's really nice as if it's 36" down, you can likely put it anywhere and have great color. And best of all, you got it to do that

That second one ... wow, quite a change. Sadly not the reverse, but maybe the red bugs are affecting a little. I sure hope so, the photo of when you got it is jaw-dropping IMO. Still a nice coral now, don't get me wrong.

Thanks, Mark. I think you are probably correct and the bugs had something to do with it but it may have been some other things as well.Who knows for sure?

I forgot to add that both corals were from Bali (not that it has anything to do with the changes I experienced). My hope is that after upgrade I can find a spot for that second coral on the top of the reef and have it under more direct light, maybe it will change again to that awesome green color.
And of course, I'll kill all the bugs before I start transfering any of the livestock or live rock.

Mike, I haven't decided as yet, really. I really hope to stay with the 250 watters but the tank is 29" high so it may be pushing it. I plan to have at least 4-5 inch DSB though, so this may help some. Three 400 watters would probably be the best option but this will require me to buy a new chiller and all that.
I may just give my old 250w set up a try and than upgrade if it is not enough.

Scott,

Eventhough there were so many of this type of threads, I may start it up when it;s time. So far I had them drill couple of holes in the back for closed loop( just for intake) but still can;t have it delivered here becouse I have no room to keep it anywhere. They are getting impatient but I can't help it with the situation I am in right now.
