Hi all.
If you remember by previous post here regarding Ich in my tank... its now been six weeks and the two remaining damsels seem to be doing just fine. My levels are perfect (except for my sg of 1.019--- which ive been bringing up to normal slowly...) my tank is a 55g with no live rock and no reef... just lava and tuffa rock. I dont think I will get another Lion since they grow too fast... I was considering getting a snowflake eel, a puffer, a trigger and/or a clown (could I get a clown if I dont have an anemone?). any reccomendations as to which species to get? and advice on order and time at which to add the fish?? any help would be appreciated. Thanks, -Alex Last edited by Rtrn2Sndr; 05-15-2005 at 11:59 AM. |

A 55gal tank is way to small for nearly all puffers and triggers.
I have kept clowns without an anemone before, but I think it depends on which type of clown you get.

Yes you can keep clowns without anemones but to be honest they are happier if they have something to play in and feel like a home. But you can keep lionfish as long as you get the dwarf's. No eel since you dont have live rock they like to hang out in the cracks. No trigger due to the size tank. If you want to get a few nice fish then try this selection.
Clowns Chromis Tang Angles Manderine if you have the copepods |

Just got back from my LFS...
I picked up two small common clown fish (Amphiprion percula) They seem to be pretty happy so far... I'll give them some time and then add the next fish. I like yellow tangs and Valentini Puffers... they should be ok for my 55g. how long to I have to wait before I can add the next fish?? Also, can get a yellow wrasse if I have crushed coral as a substrate? (im scared the wrasse won't be able to dig in at night...) Thanks, -Alex |
