Well,

If you really looking for some information about Alkalinity, try this articles written by Randy Holmes-Farley.

http://www.advancedaquarist.com/issu.../chemistry.htm
http://www.advancedaquarist.com/issues/may2002/chem.htm
http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2002-0...ture/index.htm
http://www.advancedaquarist.com/issues/nov2002/chem.htm

I try to maintain my Alkalinity as close to NSW values as I can, between 8-10 dkh.

It probably means that people who have voted are checking back every time they're on the board to see the current results of the poll. In order to see the results, one must click on the thread and that increases the view count.
