Hi Reeflanders
Just another cycling question. I've just moved house and completely replaced my old crushed coral bed with a 5 inch DSB in the main tank and a 7 inch DSB in the refugium/algae reef. My live rock is all old rock - no new stuff. Well I am still getting a cycling.. no surprise I guess. Is current .5 ppm ammonia. I don't want to do a water change should the ammonia get higher as I think its better to let the bacteria deal with it. What I wonder about is the ability if products like Ammo-lock and Prime to bind up the ammonia and nitrate and detoxify it. How reliable is this stuff and will my corals and fish be safe and un-irritated, or should I do some water changes? Currently I am using Ammo-lock as recommended on the bottle and the tank inhabitant seem fine.
