I'm new to the hobby (just over 3 months now). I like to get fish and coral at the LFS, just something about seeing what I buying. Live rock, clean up crew and dry good I'll buy online.

Only thing I've purchased that was somewhat online was some Xenia from Kevinpo, course I'm pretty much only an hour or so away from his store but I still bought it online from him and it was shipped to bad I used Oceanpure salt and it dropped my alkalinity and killed the xenia that was thriving, oh well live and learn, I'll replace it someday

I prefer to purchase fish locally but I have purchased fish online. The only reason that I went the online route was because the species that I wanted was unavailable locally.

I've never purchased online but I would from some of the more reputable sites if I had to.

Thumbs down Online vendors LOL.... not here

Online vendors LOL.... not here in Thailand LOL...

All my stuff comes from a market called Jadujak - sadly a lot of the stuff they sell is pillaged off reefs in the SE Asia region... by dubious means.

Ethical reefkeeping doesnt really exist here. There are only a few people breeding fish and no one frags coral here as far as I know. Except me

The govt has no interest in allowing coral farms or such - it would destroy the ability of the wildlife department to take bribes for illegal wildlife sales.

I purchased my cardinals from liveaquaria.com because I couldn't find them locally. Now I see them all the time in local stores. I have been looking for pyramid butterflys since last October and will buy them from the first online vendor that gets some. I am so desperate that I am on the waiting list at Marine Center, even though their price is sky high compared to other vendors.

It's been 6 years since I bought a fish online. I just won't do it anymore, way to much stress involved.
