Well it's been a long time since I have visited this thread. The system has been running since I purchased it but has been pretty deserted. My dad was keeping it and didn't have enough time for it so it has suffered since I moved off. I removed most of the corals over a year ago. In that time nothing has been added. The mantis shrimp died of natural causes. The Scopas, Clown and Damsel are still alive and kicking. I lost the Royal Gramma in the move. The anemone is doing great and the rock still has quite a few purple Discosomas. I moved this system to my home here because I needed a frag tank
. The old sandbed was discarded and a new one is in place but I may slowly remove it and go BB.
I upgraded the ASM G2 skimmer with a sedra 5000 pump/mesh mod. I have gate valves ordered as well for this skimmer, The Euro Reef on my other system and the colleges G4. The T5 lighting got all new IceCap wiring, reflectors and bulbs. I'm not going to upgrade ballasts until I have to. The return pump was upgraded to a Gen X 8500 but I have had to throttle it way back because I only have one bulkhead for a drain.
I need to get some time to post pictures. Hopefully next week. I haven't been around a lot because I'm working up at the college and my aquarium maintenance business that I got going is keeping me very busy. I'm now maintaining nine seperate systems here in Jonesboro including my own two with a full time job and summer classes. I apologize for not being here much though. I miss you guys and my wife says hello.

Glad to hear you are doing well! How is that college system doing? ( I know wrong thread...)
It's fine! I've had to now remove four of Genes clones to other systems. Things have really grown and it's helped me make a lot of contacts. I need to update that thread as well.

Hey long time no see!!!!! Glad to hear things are going good with you and your thriving business. At least you can't get into to much trouble, you don't have time.
About the pictures, you know how it is over here, no pics, no fun. There are only a few here that can walk and chew bubble gum at the same time, so for those of us that can't.............. post some pictures!!!!!!!![]()

Here are some updated pics after eight years in operation. The majority of the rock and corals are sold at this point and I'm slowly cleaning it out. Once these have been removed I am going to build egg crate shelves over the remaining rock work to sit frags on. It will look quite different in a month. A week ago I had a large bacteria bloom and the system was completely cloudy for two days. The corals fed this entire time and seemed unaffected. I have gotten my nitrates and phosphates back down to 0 and have been slowly adjusting the Ca, Alk and Mg. Things are looking happier and much better than before I moved them. The fish are in qt because they all broke out with what I believe to be ich from stress during the move. If it is ich I find it amazing that after all this time they are still ok. Two days after moving it I broke it down again to remove them. Will keep it fallow for a few months and treat these fish in hyposalinity. Anyway here are the pics.

Is this the tank you are going to go BB in?

No I hadn't planned on it but I might end up with two BB tanks when it's all said and done. I'm actually thinking that once most of the rocks are out of this one that I might partition the display with acrylic and make 1/2 of it a show refugium and the other half a BB frag tank.

Those are some great pictures Chuck!
Thank you. It's sad because my dad enjoyed having this aquarium. I was in a better position to maintain it and honestly needed it here so I felt that I needed to get it. I don't know if you guys can remember but a few years ago this was a very nice display. He didn't have the time for it and the system suffered pretty bad as I don't make it home very often. He had everything that he needed for it but not the time. I'll try to dig up some old pictures for a comparison.

These were the only two that I could dig up. You can definately see what a lax maintenance routine can do. If you will notice and compare some shots from my other system you can see that the majority of these corals are still with me.

Chuck if you are planning to do the frag tank and are looking to sell some of that rock send me a PM. Logan is about to buy rock, if you've got it and want to sell it, it would be a lot easier to do that way. Also, is that a brain in the first pic you posted yesterday? (the light pink) Shoot me a PM
I have plenty of rock to get Logan rockin...you need to come by and get your shoes anyway hah. The majority of these large pieces have sold already but I have a ton laying around. About how many lbs do you think he'll need?
