Got me a new system
Drove down to Jonesboro Ar a few days ago and paid $800 for this beautiful 75g reef. I got the stand, tank, rock, inhabitants, equipment, lighting, food etc etc. I packed it up, brought it back, set it up and have been tinkering with it for a few days now. It's been established for 4 years and is absolutely stunning to see. Every rock in it is absolutely covered in corals. The guy who owned it has been in the hobby for ten years but is starting a new job that requires him to travel. He wanted $1500 but I called and offered $700 cash. He said $800 and come get it today and it's yours.
I'll fill you guys in a little more when I figure out exactly what I have on my hands here. I took these pics with a crappy camera but my mom will go take some better ones with hers sometime. For now here ya go.

I haven't had a chance to write anything yet and won't until next week. Going camping with my girl on the spring river and won't be back until Monday. Anyway here's some pics of the refugium/sump area. I wish this fuge was gravity fed. I also wish I knew what model my ASM skimmer is but it does the job so whatever...
When the lights come on today I'll get some more close ups of my inhabitants. Enjoy!!

Yeah, the pictures he sent me were nice enough to make me want it but once I got in front of it I absolutely had to have it. What a chore though....geez
He was glad not to have to part it out and that it went to someone who will care for it properly is the only reason he gave me such a sweet deal. Here's the pics he sent.

A few more
The chromis shown is the only loss resulting from the move. The bag got sloshed around I guess and the chromis got stuck in the corner that had no water in it....I guess this is why the shops use those elongated bags instead of zip locks. :slap:

Ok here's the short write up I have so far.
75 gallon softie reef 4-6" medium particle aragonite SB, When I moved this system I completely disturbed the SB. I was surprised to find that there were no problems like you always read about. The sand was very clean and full of life. Since returning it to the display I've had no problems. I associate this with it being so healthy in the first place. There wasn't anything rotting or collecting in it...it even smells good. I think the very large population of Nassarius vibex snails is responsible but can't be sure. 150lbs of fiji LR...mostly very large pieces ten lbs or more I'd say Fish inhabitants Amphiprion clarkii Gramma loreto Zebramosa scopas Synchiropus picturatus Pseudocheillinus hexataenia and that blue and yellow damsel that I can't seem to find an id for. If any of you know what it is please let me know. I've been having problems during feeding time in my nano between my Premnas biaculeatus and my Neocirrhites armatus and am thinking of removing the hawk to the larger system. I think it might be a problem and want you guys opinions before I do. I've introduced Asterina stars and Stomatella varia to this system from my nano. I'm also thinking of moving my Ophiodermarubicundum over the next time I can catch it. I'm not for sure but there are thousands of tiny snails crawling about. They look like mini Turbo snails and might be babies. I don't know but the cleanup crew rocks in this thing. Corals: Zoanthids....so many zoanthids Actinodiscus sp. - spotted mushroom Actinodiscus striata Ricordea yuma Ricordea florida Xenia sp. 3 fungias 1 herpolitha limax 1 Platygyra sp. Favia sp. Parazoanthus Caulastrea sp. Lobophyllia herprichii....I think Green and brown Protopalythoa vestitas and last but not least some sort of star polyps. They have 8 brown very smooth tentacles with a bright green center. 20 gallon sump with 3 baffles. I think this sump is too small but it's all that will fit in the cabinet with the fuge. It holds my heaters, return pump, all my extra LR and my ASM skimmer which rocks. 10 gallon fuge this fuge contains a 4" deep medium particle SB and a bunch of LR rubble. Macroalgaes kept are Caulerpa sertulariodes, Chaetomorpha and Gracilarusand my favorite of the fish the Synchiropus picturatus. This guy is eating frozen brine but also wiping out my pod population. Fatty. Equipment....not for sure on all this Mag 5 pump for a return ASM G2 with a sedra 3500 I additional MJ 1200 in the display Lighting is provided by 6 54w t5's two of them are actinics and four of them are daylight spectrum bulbs but they are different...two are much brighter. I don't know what exactly they are. And that's what I've got written about it so far. Any thoughts you have will be appreciated.

Wow! You have been BUSY! Only thing I would suggest is to replace the bulbs, two reasons: You will know what they are, and you will know when they need to be replaced. Unless he told you how old the bulbs are, I don't think you will be able to replace them on time... (whatever that is for T5)

Will there be conflicts if I move my hawkfish over to the 75g?
