Hey all, i was wondering if somebody might know the link to the post i'm looking for. i remember seeing a post a while back about a guy who had gotten a really bad infection on his arm/hand after coming in contact with zoos?/tank in general(not positive). turned out the guy got lucky a dr. from hawaii was there and knew what to do. if anybody can help me find this i would be very happy.

my father in law doesnt believe my husband and i when we tell him he shouldnt be putting his hands in the tank if he doesnt have to, or when you have any kind of open areas that may get in the water. he keeps doing it,and i would like to show him what can happen if you arent careful. thanks

Palytoxin is the name of the chemical found in Palythoa species which includes most zoanthids. Do a search using the word palytoxin and you will come up with hundreds of research papers that have studies the effects of this powerful toxin. It has been used to coat the spear tips of islanders to paralyze/kill prey or enemies.
