If so,
How much do you dose to keep your Ca/ALK at x levels?
thanks,
joe
P.S.
i mean to ask what you keep your ca/alk at, and how much esv you add everyday to maintain those levels

Well, I have a 29g. Is that close enough. I use about 7ml of each in this tank to maintain alkalinity. The CA has never been a problem, but over time without buffer the alk will fall. My Ca I test at 400-480 and I can't remember off the top of my head what the alk level usually is. The only problem dosing in this tank is that even 7ml makes the tank ph swing rapidly. I may just start dosing kalk since I could then stretch it out over the entire day.
i have a very loaded tank i use 30ml of each daily
i thinking i could use less to maintain
I should probably add that I don't have any corals 'cept xenia in there. It is my carpet and clown tank and doesn't have anything other than halimeda and coralline to pull Ca from the water.
I have a 26 and I dose 15ml of each part. It keeps my calcium at 440 (I had to use a secondary calcium additive to get it up to there) but the b-ionic maintains it, and my dKH is around 8.5. I agree that is seems my alk is slowly going down but it is still at a good level.
I dose every morning and I don't see any adverse effects when I dose. I say go for it. I have seen a tremendous improvement in the health of my corals as a result of the dosing.
Good luck.
djheywood,
what do you mean by "go for it"?
Maybe I misunderstood. I thought you were asking because you were deciding if you should dose b-ionic to your tank. By go for it I meant start dosing your tank, I think it is worth it in a small tank.
Maybe that wasn't the intent of your thread?
