just got back from vacation

alright well... i just got back from vacation. I went to california for a week, and when i got home my tank was a mess. I had my older brother feed the fish and refill the outo topoff bucket, but thats about it. I figured everything would be alright, because i was only going to be gone for a week. Well lets get to the point, the tank glass was filthy, and there was this white filmy layer of STUFF floating at the top of the tank. I had a "dead" coral in there, but im not sure if that is the problem. Could it be because the glass wasnt cleaned? my fish seem to be fine, but i noticed some corals bleached a tiny bit. someone please help me out here.

Check the water peramiters

You need to check your water perameters. What are the levels like? Do you have excess nutrient present? If the tank was overfeed then it's possible and may help determin what's wrong

That film on the top may be due to a lack of flow across it....this film could have also blocked some of your light causing a small amount of color loss. My 5g nano gets that film on top of it and I have to stir it up/skim it off sometimes.
