Okay, here is another one for you guys. What is the most you have paid for xenia? I bought our first colony about 8 months ago when I couldn't find any in the bay area and it ran me $40 for a small frag. After cruising the forums and joining a local club I find that the elongatta is pretty much given away since it grows like a weed. Well we have tradded in over $100 in frags from it, so it is working out just fine.

Well this weekend we were out at Aquarium Concepts and we saw a beautiful silver tipped pom-pom xenia. We have never seen this type for sale and we just had to have it. Well $75 later we are the proud owners of a small, single stalked frag of this coral. Where was Perry when I needed him? Just kidding, probably couln't do anything about the $$. If this guy grows well it can make up for its large initial cost.

Just curious how much you guys have paid for pom-pom xenia or xenia in general.

I paid $50 + shipping for a captive raised Purple Pom Pom... but that pretty much tops out. I just have a very hard time justifying spending more than $50 on any livestock.

Hey when you are ready to frag that one, let me know maybe we can trade stock or something.

I paid $35.00 at the LFS i now trade with them monthly for new corals has made me over $300.00 in sales and trades.

Originaly paid $70 total for 5 stalks (4 elongata and 3 red sea). Local going price is $10 per stalk reefer to reefer 3 times that at the LFS. I place 3 to 5 stalks on each rock and sell them for $10 to $15 per rock plus shipping. It pays the electric bill each month....

I got mine for free it hitched its way in but if i were selling it i'd put like 2 or 3 colonies on it and only charge like 10-15bucks for it.
