Obviously a Damsel Fish of some kind but I have never seen anything except the yellow tail that resembles this one.

It almost looks like a Starcki Damsel (with more yellow on the bottom). I don't think it a Blue/Gold not enough tellow.

Yeah it is a damselfish....the guy I bought it from didn't know what it was either only that he had to have it when he saw it. I've been looking at damsel pics for a few days now and have seen nothing even close

Do any of the damsels change colors as they mature?

This damsel may not be the exact species but I think it is the same family.
Chrysiptera taupou

Thumbs up You have a South seas devil

Hey Samper, You have a Chrysiptera taupou, the village belle/South seas devil. No idea if it changes colour - but related damsels that I have kept have not done so.. Bob Fenners site confirms this I think. See

Awesome kevinpo I appreciate it. I've found a couple of different looking fish under that name but mine is included in them. I don't know why it was so hard to find or how they are calling these all the same fish. Some have the yellow dorsal fin and some don't...maybe male/female differences or something?

I got the link fixed. Here is a quote from WWM:
Chrysiptera taupou (Jordan & Seale 1906), the Village Belle or South Seas Devil. Southwestern Pacific Ocean. A great beauty and relatively non-aggressive. A very nice addition as an individual specimen to reef aquariums; where this one was photographed. To two and a half inches in length.

Not sure why that link didnt open for you. Did you manage to look at the pic on the site? Do you think thats your fish? It seems to be from what I can tell from your pics and the ones on wetwebmedia.com

Yes that is the fish. I found another site quoting it to be the most brilliant blue fish in the ocean. I think it's pretty beautiful myself. Thanks all for your help
