Feeding ricordeia shrooms

I bought three of these at the LFS (and now i have 4, one was in the process of splitting when i bought it and i think another one is getting ready too). These guys really do look like little anemonies. Should i give them little peices of silver sides? or will do fine on DT's (which i am still waiting to recieve). They are really cool, i love their colors (kind of a whitish/clear/teal color with bright pink mouth parts.)

It is my understanding that mushrooms just absorb minerals and such from the water and they are also photosynthetic, so they don't need to be fed directly, anyone else?

I have never had to feed any 'shroom. Although I have occasionally seen some smaller ones close up around brine shrimp that may have fallen on them during feeding the fish.

I feed my Ricordia Polyp ocassionally with frozen brine. It will engulf totally closing up and then reopen in a few minutes. I dont think its really needed, I just give it some wwhen I feed the anemones. I do this like once a week or every other week. Mine has not split however.
