Talking couple of pics to show reef growth

Found an old picture from last year in my gallery that I uploaded in October.
Note the blue/green A.millepora and how far from the front glass it is in this picture.

Just for the fun and giggles I decided to take another top/down today to compare. Here's results of one year worth of growth, fragging and competition for space.... I was amazed, personally, that despite all of those things this coral grew and grew well.To be more exact, it is almost touching the front glass and I have hard time cleaning the glass in that area. :slap: :slap:

Sorry for a blurry shot but I didn't want to shut off all the pumps for this pic.

Mike,

Do you mean that red A.anthocersis? If so, after my near fiasco with the first Coralvue bulbs it never went red again. It bleached partially and then recovered but the color was never the same again. It has more reddish hue to it in person but photographs more of the brown shades of red, if there is such a thing.

Rebecca,

I was actually talking about the blue/green A.millepora in the first post, the bright green mille had grown as well but not nearly as much as the neighbor.

Does the cap underneath have a problem with shading?

Thanks,Cherlie.

To answer your question, yes, some parts of the cap that are right under the mille is almost white but I can still see the polyps and tissue there. And it's still growing well. I need to break some of those lighter parts and put them under the lights and they will color up in a couple of days.I had done that few times already as an experiment. In fact, I forgot about one piece and it encrusted the rock and now growing at the other end of the tank. Silly, but my memory is not what it;s used to be. Now if I want to get rid of it I'd need to remove a large rock to do it....

Kevin,

Thanks!!!!
