Question Is there something wrong with my skimmer?

My protein skimmer haven't been skimming up any thing from my tank in the past 2 weeks! I've checked the skimmer for clogs but it was perfectly fine. So what are possible problems that my skimmer is facing?

Could be bioload is low, could be the skimmer just plain isn't working do to not being set up right, could be your skimmer is like mine, and pulls out gunk for a week, then takes a week off, then pulls out LOADS of gunk... Even if it is not producing stinky crap, the reaction chamber is still a benefit, with all that O2 in there!

Well, my skimmer seems to be somehow like yours. 3 weeks before this happens, one of my fish in my tank died and the skimmer skim out lots of stuff from my tank... But after that, it stopped.

BTW, is there anyway in which i can see whether my skimmer is being set up right?

Well, i'm not really sure whether you've heard of this brand before but it is quite popular among people in Singapore. It is a "Weipro SA-2011 Venturi Driven Protein Skimmer".

BTW, i can't seem to be able to remove the collection cup away from the skimmer....Help here?

? Can you explain this a little more? Could it be that your collection cup is not vented and this is causing backflow of intended air, thus not allowing for the skimmer to skim?

I meant that the cup is stuck there... I've tried all methods to remove it but it just would not move.... However, when the skimmer was still able to skim out stuff(and that was two weeks ago...), this problem already exists.... Thus i think the cup should'nt affect the operation of the skimmer rite?

Is the skimmer clean? Can you see bubbles in the skimmer?
