Question Kevin, check this out.

Take a look at this coral in action with the mesenteries. It appears that it had captured the red bug at the end of one filament but I couldn't see if it was consumed or not afterwards. The coral had retracted it's mesenterials but I couldn't tell where that bug went becouse i only saw this after processing of the images.
Incidently, I asked Eric once why wouldn't coral kill and consume those bugs since they are definately small enough but I didn't get an answer I could understand completely. I had treated twice with interceptor and haven't seen any after the second treatment... untill I fet the tank that is... It seem that they are only on this particular coral at this time which leads to the question : Could they be hiding inside the polyp? Or right under the tentacles of the polyp? I am at the point where I think of just chucking this coral in the garbage and be done with it. I can't find those buggies on anything else but this one coral. Here's the pic...

I have never seen any of my sps throw their filaments out like that. I've seen ricordias do it when I cut em up but never an sps. Could the red bug have agitated it to that point or is this a normal occurance for you?
Seems logical to assume the polyps could consume these little guys but until we get it on video or something who knows.

Chuck,

A whole lot of my sps do this when I feed the tank but most of the time if I put my hands in the water for any length of time most all of them do it. I usually try to have gloves on but sometimes I have no time for that.
