Help me stock my tank!
I have a 55g reef, with a mated pair of pink skunk clowns and a 6-line wrasse. Originally, I planned on adding a purple tang, 1) because they're cool, 2) to control nuiscance (mainly hair) macroalgae, and 3) because I thought I would be getting a bigger tank before he/she outgrew the 55g. Due to a bad divorce (Loni) I think an upgrade is 1-2 years away, so I'm looking for some smaller fish to round out my stock list. I thought of a lawnmower blenny to assume the tang's algal responsibilites, but have heard they are difficult to keep well-fed because they only eat algae, and will blow through a 55g tank in no time. I've also thought of green chromis, and have heard they are happier in greater numbers. How may green chromis can I get away with in a 55g, with my current stock list? Any other suggestions for smaller, reef-safe fish?
