I've got a Percula clown in my tank, and i've just got two clarkii clowns now i bought the two clarkii from my local fish shop, they were in the same tank with about 5 sebae anemones so i bought one also. what i would like to know, will they be a mated pair? and what is the likelyhood of one of the clarkii's becoming mated with the percula? i asked one of the guys at another place if it was possible for that to happen and his reply was-"I think thats how they get different kinds of new clowns." is he full of it, or whats gonna/might happen? never any "fighting", or nipping, but whenever the larger of the two clarkii's comes by the percula the percula goes sideways and kinda spazzes out like if he were getting electricuted, can anyone tell me what thats all about, although its funny to watch i am slightly concerned.

I can't answer your question about the different species breeding but I have seen that behavior before among two Perculas. The one spazzing out is submitting to the other clownfish in a way.....sort of how a dog rolls over and shows its stomach when it's scared of another dog. Most likely your two clarkii clowns will form a pair. The larger of the two being the female. Clowns are very aggressive and territorial especially of their anemones and when protecting eggs. I forsee problems with the three of them being together especially if your system isn't very large. The anemone will require a good amount of food and adequate lighting to keep it alive long term. Are you setup to handle it?
