sponge
does anyone know how to tell how well a sponge is doing just by looking at it? i have a honey comb, or bee hive i cant remember the name of it and its got a some dark colloration on the top edges here is a pic ive been feeding this stuff DT's live marine phytoplankton for all my filter feeders what can i do for it to help it grow

Difficult to tell but my guess would be if it is loosing it's bright coloration that it is not doing so well...just a thought.
Sponges are pretty delicate and best left to develop, grow and thrive on their own. We have many sponges in our reef, white and yellow ones, but they just grew out on their own. I think sponges are best left for this type of life. |

It is almost impossible to identify sponges visually. Take a look at this article. It does provide information on how sponges are classified and identified, but also includes some tips on their care.
