best removal products for phosphate, silica, and metals?
Preventing them from being introduced to begin with. ;)
hahahahhahaha
besides that
There is really no way that I know of to remove "metals" from the tank nor silica. Heavy protein skimming is my only thought. For phosphate, I think dripping kalk will help precipitate phosphate so this would be my suggestion. There are a lot of (bad) opinions about materials used in popular Phosphate sponges so I would stay away from them.
Truly, I think not introducing them is your best option all around.![]()
For removal water changes are best for me.
Water changes are the best, also like has been said trying to prevent too much of these things being introduced into the tank is the best. Things like phosphate and nitrates are products of feeding the livestock and them metabolizing the food. Not over feeding (something that I have yet to master--by a long shot) is the best way of reducing them.Originally Posted by SeaMe

Thanks My2heartboys!
Overfeeding is so easy to do since I don't want to deprive anything! My biggest downfall is I really like fish a lot and always put too many in my systems so the waste builds up quickly despite having an excellent filtration system. So to stay on top of things every two weeks I do a 50% water change on a 90g system.
