Too late to aquascape?

Since my tank is still cycling, is it too late to start digging around to redo my aquascape. I recently stumbled across a thread on RC that was about aquascapes and got inspired. I just sort of half-hazardly placed my rock on initial set-up, not realizing the possibilities.

Will pulling most of my rock out and redoing the scape extend my cycling period? I plan on getting pretty elaborate if not. If so, then I'll just do some tweaking. Thanks.

Rearranging your live rock won't cause any problems. If you pull it out of the water and leave it out for an hour or two, you will have a little additional dieoff but nothing to be concerned about, especially since you don't have any corals or anything in your tank yet.

Better to redo it now rather than later.

I definitely agree here, take the time and do your rock scape like you want now or you'll wish you had later.

Yeah definately scape it now! but be careful if you have a SB not to disturb it that much. Try and visualize how you want it b4 you go putting your hands in there too.

I promise myself the next time I am setting up a tank I am going to take the time to do some radical scaping, or include some of the Reef Ceramics which I think look really cool.

Yeah cause I think when you disturb the rock in an established tank it does cause problems.

Reef ceramics have been popular in Germany for years, mainly because live rock is very expensive over there. Over here, live rock is much cheaper than reef ceramics.

Thanks for the link Ninong! Now I know what it is... but now I'm wondering what it looks like. The site doesn't have pics!

Here is a picture of a "back wall" piece: http://www.finsreef.com/product.php?...cat=292&page=1

It also comes in "pillars" and individual "rocks." As you can see, it's not cheap. It's made of some sort of porous ceramic.

I think they look really cool and with a few pieces of liverock it should color up in no time. I like the look of the pillars. As I understand, they are pretty scarce right now but I know FinsReef is planning a shipment in Dec.

That looks awesome! Thanks for the link, Ninong. Now when I convert the swimming pool to a 20,000 gallon reef tank, I'll have to get some big pieces of this to try out!
