I don't know what this is?
I don't have a pic but it appears to be a sponge? Its spreading slowly. But its almost black in color. It doesn't appear to be bothering corals around it but I dont know what to make of it. I've never seen anything like it before. It will slowly retaract if touched. Any Ideas??

It's just about impossible to say anyhting about your critter without seen a picture, however, sponges do come in in various colors, including black color.
Heck, just a couple of days ago when i was rescaping my tank, I found numerous sponges that were black and very dark purple in color. I don;t think they should be of concern, though, if anything they are indicator that you have some criptic life proliferating in your tank. Happens to all mature tanks. ![]()
