Tang not Eating
My new Yellow Hawaiin Tang isn't eating. Its only been three days but I haven't even seen her pick at a rock. I've offered seaweed on a clip the whole time. I know that they don't always go for the seaweed right off. But I'm starting to get a little concerned. She looks very healthy and happy. I just want her to stay that way. Should I be concerned?

Not totally, 3 days isn't too bad but I would suggest trying to add some different foods. You might contact the place that you got it and ask what they feed or try something enticing like some mysid shrimp.

Although live brine shrimp don't have too much nutrition, unless they just hatched, tangs will eat them, too. Most fish seem to just love chasing after their meals!

You could even soak some frozen brine in Selcon or other type of food supplement.

Garlic worked. Damn thing turned its nose up at everything I offered it until I soaked it in garlic. I feel much better knowing my Tang has a full stomach.

Yup, garlic is usually very appealing to fish.

Question is, can I eventually get away from the garlic. Once it gets into the routine, will I be able to remove the garlic. Hard to say I guess. |

Hard to say but you should be able to. In fact the next couple of times I tried to feed I would remove the garlic to see how it goes.
