This has to be one of the most important things in the asthetics on a good reef tank, your backgroung. Id like to know what people have on there tanks, and if at all possible include a pic and what kind of lighting you are using MH or PC, oh and please take the poll as well.

I have a black background. It is part of the tank. I also let the coraline grow at will on the back. Sorry no pic right now but I use MH and VHO. I used pc in the past and would never go back.

Used to have a black background, until the coralline took over.

This is a picture of my 90 gallon, the color is sea-foam. The picture isn't the greatest cause of the flash but you can get an idea of the color. My new tank I'm gonna try out the coraline look

I prefer a blue on. The thing I noticed with black is it will show and particles floating in the water wheras the blue hides them. Makes for a cleaner looking tank.

110galreef i would have to agree with you. I recently switched from black to light blue (just flipped the black over) and i think you are absolutly right.although i do have coraline building up too.

I voted light blue....but it really doesnt matter after 6 mos cuz the coralline but black does attract heat and to me its enough to make a difference.
