Dip Or Not To Dip?
I JUST GOT A ROCK WITH RED MUSHROOMS ON IT. ITS LOOKS LIKE I GOT LUCKY AND ALSO GOT ABOUT SIX TIGER STRIPED STAR FISH OUT OF THE DEAL
 . I WOULD LIKE TO GET THEM OUT SO I CAN BE SURE THAT THEY ARE GETTING ANY FOOD AND SEE HOW MANY I HAVE.IT MAY BE MORE THAN ARM EVERYWHERE.CAN I DO A 1.030 DIP TO GET THEM OUTOR WILL IT KILL THE MUSHROOMS OR SOULD I LEAVE THEM ALONE AND HOPE FOR THE BEST. |

I don't think it's a good idea to dip any corals in a hypersaline solution for any reason. A sudden change in salinity would probably be deleterious to their health.
If you place the mushroom rock in a large pan filled with tankwater and then add some flake food to the water, the seastars might evacuate the rock to get at the food. Do this in a shaded area without lights.
