HELP!! What do mantis shrimp look like?
Ok, every day brings a new surprize with this tank. I have something, BIG coming out of my LR. There is a nice size hole in the top of one of them and now i see this white looking thing sticking and pulsating out of the top of it, as i look down into the hole i see bright red crustacean legs that look excatly like my red reef hermits. So i check around and find my hermit, in his shell and as happy as can be. So what is this thing? a shell less hermit that was hiding in my rock? Some kind of critter? i cant get it out, i am going to keep an eye on it though.

Whew, well, i got my tweezers out and extracted this thing from the LR, turns it was a red reef hermit, dead too and without shell. THat is really weird, it is the same size as my other one, but my other one is healthy and happy. The movement i saw was it being tugged on by one of the little "tenticle worms" that i have in my tank. I am really puzzled by this.

Did your other hermit molt? This could be his old skin.
