I dunno...it probably depends on how big your tank is, and what it's stocked with.

Should I even have peppermint shrimp in a 30 gallon reef? or will the eat my bubble coral?

You can have 1 or 4, doesn't really matter. They will not eat your coral either.

All shrimp are territorial but their territories are not very large. In a 30-gal tank, don't get more than two shrimp and stick to the same species so that you will end up with a breeding pair. You could keep more than that of some species in a larger tank. A lot depends on the exact species involved because some are not as tolerant of conspecifics as others.

I have 2 in my reef tank along with a couple cleaner shrimp and one blood red shrimp. Never see them at all because they hide somewhere, but they must be there because they do eat the Aiptasia

I've got 3 peppermint shrimp in my 12 gallon refugium... they don't seem to fight, but they all definitely have their own neighborhood.
I have not tried the peppermints in the reef tank... I'm afraid that if they'll eat Aiptasia, they may nibble on my bubble-tip anemone. (I inject the Aiptasia with 0.5 cc of lemon juice with an insulin syringe.) I've got two skunks in the reef tank. It's cool to watch them clean the fish - and I assume it's good for the fish to be cleaned by them, too. They even clean my fingers when I have to put my hand in the tank. ![]()
