Who ID's skeletons?

When my tank had the limewater accident I lost a beautiful piece of sps that I had never gotten an ID for. Who can I send the skeleton to for an ID cause I want that piece back?

You have to do cross sections of the skeleton for microscopic examination. I suppose you could send it off to AIMS in Australia, Attn: J.E.N. Veron, along with a donation of $1000 or so and maybe he could identify it for you. He's the world's foremost expert on scleractinian identification but he says that it is often impossible to identify corals that have been kept in aquariums for any length of time because they change from their natural morphology.

Or you could try to identify it for yourself here: http://whelk.aims.gov.au/coralsearch/coralsearch.php

Good luck!
