i have pictures of what appears to be red algae, is this bad or its something else i shouldnt be too worried .

Sure is a cool red! I would keep an eye on it, the faster it grows the WORSE it usually is! If it is a slow grower, I'll bet you could keep it in check with pruning, or a Rabbitfish. If it grows FAST then I would prune it back as far as possible.
