Question 9 gal nano tank needs anemone

i'm not sure what i should get for an anemone, to host a clownfish, for my 9 gallon tank. most anemones are so large. does anyone have any suggestions? i've been looking and looking, just not sure what i should get for this size of a tank.
i haven't bought a clownfish yet. i'm waiting to get the anemone and fish at the same time.
i also could use some suggestions on corals, etc. for the bottom of the tank.
thanks, petunia

Hi petunia,

You should not put an Anemone of any kind in a 9 gallon tank, they grow much too large for a tank this small. But you can still get a small pair of clownfish as they do not require a host Anemone.

Many clownfish will adopt things like mushrooms, dense mats of zoanthid polyps and other such creatures if there is no anemone present. My tomoato clown has adopted both of these, and I've heard of other similar experiences.

You could do a condy if you have an extremely odd setup with tons of lighting. But I doubt it would be cost effective. I say screw the anenome.
